Bluebell is a “Happy School”

Bluebell School for primary education is a primary school for the children of landless farmers in Balagram, a town in northwestern Bangladesh. Here the children are educated 6 days a week against the background of their families’ constant struggle for existence. At the school, 104 children are taught by 5 teachers (who earn about $110 CAD per month). Bluebell school follows the UNESCO framework Happy School where one of the important features is community service. An example is that students plant trees for the community to become aware of the international sustainability goals.
